Eye See

It’s better to light a candle than to curse the dark

A few months back, our beloved friends from Yobel Market connected us with the amazing Darci Nolan, the co-founder of Eye See Media, a stunning organization confronting oppression and injustice. Eye see is a voice. The hope that pours from them, the promise of restoration of the broken, continues to inspire and encourage our spirits. Eye See, Thank You for your heart-felt work, bringing light to annihilate darkness, going after a better way. Keep it up!

We recently had the pleasure of having Juan and Carmen’s incredible, selfless story of love and service published in the latest issue of Eye See Magazine. Pick up a copy of the Food issue or subscribe to their incredible magazine here.

That magazine sounds really interesting- excited to go check it out… oh, and love the quote from K’naan. His music is the stuff.
Wishing you were going to be around for our visit next month. I miss you guys!
    Love, Becca

@ Becca – Darci Nolan and Eye See ARE amazing! If you did’t catch it, you can read the entire issue online via the link in the post. Carmen’s Cocina story is on page 49.

Speaking of K´naan, he recently wrote a beautiful article for the NY Times about Somalia.

Here’s a great quote from it: “And then come the makeshift camps set up for the many hungering displaced Somalis. They are the reason I am here. If my voice was an instrument, then I needed it to be an amplifier this time. If my light was true, then I needed it to show its face here, where it counts. Nothing I have ever sung will matter much if I can’t be the mouth of the silenced. But will the world have ears for them, too?”

My heart hurts even for what I do not yet see or hear. I just sense there are tears I have yet to view and cries that will disturb my quiet. Lord, open my eyes and my ears and give me your heart of compassion. Help me know what you would have me to do, however small or great. Help me make a difference for you. I hurt, Lord.
